The throttle body in your Ford Explorer controls the amount of air flowing into the engine. If your Ford Explorer has more than 75000 miles and you are noticing stalling or surging once it has warmed up, you might need to clean your throttle body. It is a pretty easy job
The throttle body can be found between the air filter and the intake manifold and most of the time it is made from aluminum. It should also have some sort of linkage from the gas pedal connected to it. If cleaning the throttle body does not help with your troubles a replacement might be in order |
