The air flow meter in your Ford Edge does just that. It measures the flow of air into your engine. Typically there are two types of air flow meters on the market. A vane air flow meter which measures the volume of air and the hot film air flow meters which measures the speed of the air flowing by it. Why you ask? The air flow meter tells the ECU or the Ford Edge brain how much air is coming into the engine. The ECU then knows how much fuel to send into the fuel injectors
Here are some common symptoms of a bad air flow meter.
- Loss of power
- Lack of acceleration
- Frequent stalling
